While I was writing the short article regarding Mercedes Sosa, I found this great song sung by Mercedes Sosa and Joan Manuel Serrat.

Interestingly, quite similar to Sosa, Serrat is also a musician who fights for his belief with music.
Joan Manuel Serrat is a Spanish Catalan singer-songwriter, who is considered as one of the most important figures of popular music in both Spanish and Catalan languages. He started his music career roughly the contemporary of Beatles. As a son of Barcelona, he always said he prefers to sing with the language that he is more proficient with. In 1968 while he represented Spain to enter the Eurovision Song Contest, he came into conflicts with Francoist’s language policy. Determined to sing the song in his native Catalan language, he was replaced by another singer and pulled out of the contest by Spanish authority. Consequently a lot of his songs were banned. In late 1974, he was exiled in Mexico due to his condemnation of Franco regime.
After the death of Franco, he was able to return to Spain.
Throughout these years, he now is well-recognized for his contribution in Hispanic culture.
